The Tao Te Ching is a deeply moving book… if you look for that depth. It can also be a beautiful poetry book if you wish to stay at the superficial. The poems are life lessons that form the basis of Taoist spiritual concepts. I can best sum it up by a little poem of my own to express my gratitude to Lao-tzu’s immortal book:

The essence of the universe

The path of being

in the universe.
